The Department of Skill Development 1, Samut Prakan (DSD), successfully organized the SEASEP Welder Qualification Test (WQT) on 2 April 2026, with the objective of promoting international welding standards and strengthening the capabilities of Thailand’s technical workforce.
The event brought together key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, including representatives from DSD, TWI Thailand, TNS, and the Welding Skill Development Academy (WelDA), reflecting strong collaboration among national and international organizations.
On this occasion, the organizers were honored by the presence of Mr. Samart Pattamasukhon, Director-General of the Department of Skill Development (DSD), who presided over the opening ceremony. The event was also attended by Mr. Satanphop Amsupan, Interim Regional Manager of TWI SEA, representing an internationally recognized organization, along with the executive management of TNS led by Mr. Wuttisak Jantarapa, Senior Executive Officer. Representatives from WelDA also joined the event to share a collective vision for advancing Thailand’s engineering and welding standards.
A total of 17 welders from TNS participated in the qualification test, demonstrating their competencies and enhancing their welding skills in accordance with international standards. The activity marked a significant step toward workforce development and the promotion of technical excellence within Thailand’s industrial sector.
